Its up to you, and obviously very subjective to the type of placement you want.

Personally, I couldn't code my way out of a paper bag - and if you see my sig, i'm doing just fine.
I recommened you learn PHP. Very powerful, and you'll find you will rarely require much else..

if you want the skill to be useful for a job, learn vbscript/jscript, ASP/JSP , and how databses work, learning how to write SQL statements is always nice.

Egyption. It may seem like a waste of time while learning it, but it will come in very handy.

Php, asp, jsp and perl(cgi) are all server side programing languages for the web.

I would recomend php, good support and can do just about everything.

Also, learn sql, its a must if you are going to use databases.

One of the few occasions I agree with you Czar. :D

I also recommend PHP; it's a great language and not as heavy as ASP or Perl. Easier to learn also and lots of support and tutorial info on the net.

Also if you have any problems with php, other than rtfm problems then you can always go to irc on #php and get help there, about half the stuff I'v learned was with help from those people.
