What language is Windows coded in?

Will Microsoft use there new language C# in any new versions of Windows... Seems to me it would be a great marketing ploy..... Just curious..

For the kernel or anything else that low level, don't count on it. C# ain't that kind of language.

I try not to be overly pedantic, but I at times get quite annoyed w/ how so many on this forum misconstrue basic facts about anything Microsoft, or development in general.

jobert: Common mistake. It's used almost interchangeably. Even Steve McConnell, author of Code Complete, calls it assembler.

Assembly is the language, and the assembler is analogous to a compiler for C. Those who refer to development in assembler are, quite simply, wrong.

[edit]I guess I shouldn't say mistake, as it is so widely used, it's a non issue. However, there still is a distinction between the two.[/edit]

reminds me of this one guy back in H.S. He was good with computers and programming stuff.. but then he proceeds to claim that he can write the code for windows 95... :p
