I think XBR is like a speaker enhancement to create a home theater like atmosphere? Maybe someone else can explain it a little better.

Edit - It also may be just a marketing ploy to get you to buy their most expensive model.

I have a 19 year old, 19 inch RCA in my living room and a 16 year old 17 inch (yep, I typed that right, 17 inch) GE (w/ remote control :D !)in my bedroom. At least one of those will last until I buy a nice HDTV when they become mainstream. TV has a very low priority in my life. If I can see the picture, its good enough for me :) .

Just one question: What's a wega?

EDIT:
Ah, looks like WEGA is a widescreen made by Sony, but I don't know what the EGA in WEGA means. Seeing how I'm proudly sporting the OLDEST TV's here, I guess it's OK not to know for years to come :)

27" Mitsubishi, about 8 years old. It started having color problems long ago but I haven't been able to justify the price of a new one. Especially considering that the one I really want is the 40" Mitsu. :)

Just got a 27" WEGA last Wednesday, and LOVE it. :D

What a great set. I almost went for the 32", and am glad I didn't. It would have been to big for my room. I only sit 10 feet from it anyway (less when I'm on the puter).

I highly recommend this set to anyone who's looking to get a new one.

I have the 32" wega (which I chose over the 27", and I am equally glad that I made that decision =)

I sit 3' away mostly.

I have 27" Sony flatscreen...

My stepdad bought a 50" (cant remember the brand; he lives 800 miles away) TV 2 years ago I think. It took 3 people to carry the thing. Its not a projection TV; its a tube TV. Playing games on it is really cool....

We are at a point where many relative died and we inhereted their TV's. Right now we have 8 TV's in the house. Each bedroom, living room, basement, kitchen all have a TV. The main TV is a 27" console in the living room. Magnavox I belive.

15 year old 20" Mitsubishi in the office.

35" Toshiba in the living room Home Theater.

27"
Sony Trinitron in the bedroom. (old main TV)

All 3 get great pictures but the Sony wins. Next TV will be an HDTV Sony flat screen trinitron if and when.

Currently a 32" Sony Trinitron XBR that's about 11 years old. It's the main set, hooked up to the VCR and home theater rig. A 19" Magnavox built into the closet in my bedroom. And a 27" Sanyo monitor in my sons room. The Sony is showing signs of dying and I'm praying that it will hang in there for a couple more years till HDTV makes it to mass market.

None, the funny thing is 1 or 2 years ago I was selected as a Nielsen family for rating TV shows. After they found out that I don't have a TV I was rejected, how fair is that.

Color.

More specifically, 25" Samsung.

I just saw my dream TV though at Costco -- $9999 plasma widescreen, HDTV ready. I can't remember the manufacturer though. That thing was GORGEOUS. The pricetag is a little steep though I did ask my wife for it for Christmas. Of course, it's worth more than our cars combined, but there you go. Who can put a price on happiness????
