Right now I feel really really depressed because I am waiting for my university results, and if I fail 1 module I will have to redo another year, which means I need to pay another £9000,00. If I fail my mom will be VERY VERY upset and I DON'T want that to happen :( I honestly don't know if I pass or not. My results should come this week or next. Seriously I feel like shit and I feel like I'm diagnose with depression :(

Anyway, back to the question. What kind of things you do when you're depressed/sad?
I know some people watch funny videos/movies etc but that's just one thing to do.

What do you do?

Across the street and down the road... just to cover my bases.

A walk, that is.

Come to think of it, I've never really been depressed. When in school, I was stressed and sometimes even overwhelmed at times, but never depressed. Sometimes just have to sit down, make a list of everything that needs to be done, prioritize, maybe even allocate time to each item, and just go at it. Sometimes you even need to drop stuff. How much is that 10+ hour assignment worth, and what impact will it have on your grade, perhaps half ass it just to get 50% on it, so you can spend some time studying for that test that's actually worth more.

Waiting for test results was definitely one stressful element of school though. I definitely don't miss that butterfly in stomac feeling. I wish you luck and hopefully you pass.

hey, we're in the same boat :D except I'm a grad student and I might not have funding next semester. i have lots of credit hours though. could just walk next semester with my masters. might go that route if i'm irked enough.

for me, exercise is a great stress reliever. But then, it can get to the point where not exercising induces stress. what a pickle.

here's some useful advice

I must be in denial thinking I don't get depressed. There's a lot to keep me busy almost every second of the day, maybe that's a reason. Oh and revenge and some mild anger are common in my mind so that helps keep me busy too.

Definitely go for a long walk with headphones on. Getting out of the apartment is the only thing that snaps me out of funks. And a strong coffee earlier in the day seems to keep me from getting into them in the first place.

What's your degree in?

my focus is computational electromagnetics. not very interesting or useful outside of research imo. i find that i prefer the fundamentals in numerical analysis more than the specifics in electromagnetics. as for actual degree, i'm an EE.

Most of the time i will not get depressed easily since i have many methods to relieve it like eating delicious food, doing yoga, sleeping and so on. The most depressed time for me happened two times. The first one is the same as you, i did not enter my dreaming university during my first attempt. Anther depression happened when i cannot find a well-paid job after my graduation from university. Actually, life is more hard then we could imagine. Anyway, we need to get through all these difficult times one by one and be a strong man in life.:D

again? did you fail your remediation course? or are you waiting on results from the previous term?

Self reflection. You need to make sure that this NEVER happens again. Figure out what's keeping you from studying enough, and eliminate that from your schedule while you're in school.

Unfortunately I don't really have any tricks for when I get depressed...

I've never been a drinker, or a smoker... or any sort of substance user. If I was, that's what I'd do. I envy those who have that. I saw a documentary once on these monkeys who steal alcoholic beverages from this resort beach, but a certain % of them would never touch the alcoholic drinks, only the non-alcoholic fruit drinks. It was the exact same % as humans who don't use substances  which leads me to believe that some of us are just not wired to do that...

I just sort of let the depression wash over me and ride it out :( I wish I had some tricks up my sleeve.
