What kind of temps should I be reading on my CPU and MOBO

Hi everyone. I need some help from some experts. I have just built my rig and just have gotten it up and running. I haven't left it on too long as I have been a bit busy but I have noticed starting CPU and Motherboard temps at 38 deg C and 45 Deg Cel respectively. I have noticed the CPU get to 44 deg Cel and the Motherboard get to 50 deg Cel with little load on them.

I have a Zalman CNPS 9500 on my AMD Opty 165, but when I installed it the clip only would fit vertically not horizontally as was specified by the direction of my motherboard. So instead of it facing the fan on the back of my case it is facing towards the bottom of the case and pushing air upward through the top fan.

Are these temps too hot? Should I request a new clip, so that I can mount the fan in the proper(according to directions) direction? Even as it sits now is it backwards? Any help would be much appreciated. Hopefully I wrote this so its understandable :). Thanks!

the clip will fit in all 4 directions, its just darn tricky, but it can. Took me like 10 minutes the first time, and I was sure something was wrong with it. I suggest rotating it so the fan meshes exactly with the exhaust of your computer. However those temps are nothing to be worried about, because the summertime tends to equal hotter than normal temps. But definitely find a way to have the fan blow right to the exhaust.
