What kind of shoes would a hitman wear?

Matte black pair of a really popular or really generic shoe.

You don't want to leave readily identifiable sole patterns for the cops to trace.

So bigboot boots are out of the question?

Depends on the job. Getting ready for a hit on the street? Casual clothes and sneakers, light sneakers. Make sure they're dark in case blood is spilt on them. When the job is done, dispose of the shoes if you stepped anywhere on dirt. If you ever get caught, your shoeprint, as well as matching dirt on the shoe will be good evidence.

Going for professional? Suit, tie, italian leather shoes. Make sure the soles aren't hard because they'll make too much noise on hard ground. Usually wear this type of thing in a city-setting or in some corporate environment.

There'd be more, but Mythbusters is on soon.

So if you were just going with something disposable, would you keep backup clothing/shoes in a bag in a dumpster somewhere?

Make sure the bag can't permeate smell. =0)
