What kind of shirt colors go with solid black shorts?

Just about anything goes with black. All shades of red/pink, blue, gray, white, green, yellow, purple etc. About the only things I won't wear with black shorts are orange because it's too Halloween-y and brown because it's ugly.

I have a pair of black shorts.

last thing I wore with them was a red t-shirt.

red, bright blue, yellow, purple. Basically any bright color. I've got a lot of black shorts/pants and bright and very rich colors always look really good.

The last thing I would wear with them is white or gray and of course never any brown/olive/tan.

black is a neutral color so you can wear any color with them, except I would not wear navy blue cuz its too close to black.
