Where's the antenna on the car mounted? If it's not in plain view that may be the problem.... My car has crappy distance with the door lock stuff. I used to have a Jeep with a car starter on it....the distance was twice that of my current FOB and it was a cheap aftermarket.

I've never had a problem with distance. Always a quick start to. All I have to do is say "Hey bitch go start my car" and bim bam boom....it is all warmed up for me when I'm ready to go.

Do you have any gold tinting on the windshield? Maybe it's blocking the signal, if the antenna is near the windshield.

I can typically start my truck 2 blocks away if there isn't much interference (trees, houses, etc.). Otherwise, the range is normally 1 block. The remote even works when I'm in the basement, inside a store, or wherever. If you're only getting 60', something isn't working correctly.

I don't know if I have any gold tinting in the windshield but the antenna is mounted on the windshield.
Where else could they have put it?

It is mounted right next to the "I" bar (or whatever it is called) that connects from the roof/ceiling to the front of the dash.

I did a little experimenting and found that if there is a clear line of sight I can get almost 200 feet of range.

If I'm in the house I can get about 60' even through concrete walls. BUT when the car is parked in a parking lot with other cars my range goes down to about 20'.

There must be some type of interference with the other vehicles.

why do you want to start it from 60 feet away?

He wants to start it from farther than 60 feet, but the remote start keyfob doesn't have that kind of range.
yes but why? 60 feet not good enough?

Um... Sitting inside your house early in the cold morning and not wanting to walk your ass out within 60 feet of the car to use the remote start. Sixty feet may seem like a lot, but it's really not.

parking your car 60feet from your house if pretty far, mine is like 9 feet outside the kitchen window in the driveway

Some of us have larger estates that do not provide the ability to park in the living room.

you shoudl have a heated gerrage then
your estate sounds sh!tty :)

We don't have a "gerrage" but we do have a paved parking lot that fits six cars next to our house in place of the "garrage." :D

Well, just send the butler to start it.

Hah!

Make yourself an indoor antenna, or use your head as an antenna....press the fob against your chin and try it, teh range magically increases.
