Neither can be overclacked since overclacked isn't a word.

You beat me to it BTRY 😀

As Flipped Gazelle said both Intel and AMD CPUs can be overclocked.

Was there a particular processor you had in mind when posing the question?

on average tho...

intels overclock better, and higher.

im suprised i havent gotten attacked for that statement yet.

I think because it's pretty much true. 🙂 The PhII's OC pretty well, but all of the Intel chips since C2D/Q was launched overclock pretty well too. But, PhII overclocks well enough, and have enough options/settings to keep just about anyone who was interested in doing such a thing entertained I'm sure. And taking a chance on enabling extra cores is a nice free performance upgrade, just like overclocking.

*eyes my old A64 rig and disapproves of that statement*

(That 3700+ OC'd like a champ!)

I assume he means current-ish processors. I don't know if we're going back to the K6-2+ vs. the Pentium 2. 🙂

The K6/2 was a horrible overclocker. Believe me, I tried 🙂

But it was much cooler cause you had to to all kind of technical stuff instead of these sissy

BIOS overclockers these days 😀

Or you could've just bought a Cyrix that was overclocked from the factory. 😉

I had a Cyrix 6x86 PR200... 😛

I had a K6/2+ OC'd from 500 to 616. 😀

Darn, I had a 300 and it would do something like 330. It was a mess 😀

Obviously should have gotten a cyrix but I allready had one for my 386 (coprocessor) 😀
