What kind of port is this on my D800?

My D800 specs say it has 4 usb ports but one is different, I thought it might be a sata port but my standard sata cable was different. See pics, usb on the bottom and ? on top

The unknown port appears to be a eSATA port. Internal SATA connectors do not fit - you need a bonafide eSATA cable.

eSATA

This is a eSATA cable that connects to eSATA ports similar to yours.

The same connectors are at both ends - one from the laptop and the other to an eSATA drive case.

If that is eSATA, hooray for Dell!

Maybe it's the Dell D-Bay connector?

If it's a Latitude D800, it won't have SATA of any kind, as that laptop was released in 2004/2005.

Edit:
The manual for the D800 says it is the Dell D-Bay connector.

Yep! That's what it is - the D-Bay Connector.

It is very eSATA like. 🙂

They should be on all lappies these days - but they are hard to find. BTW - it is all one connector - top and bottom.
