what kind of plant is this? Kind of urgent

It's the Snozzberry plant. If you taste the fruit you will find that they do taste like snozzberries.

The only plant I could ever imagine someone gnawing on raw, would be the coca plant or some kind of similar stimulant-containing plant.

Shit this just jogged my memory. I remembered the berries being a lesser toxic bit of the plant.

They are, but only the ripe ones.

The plant is toxic. Ingestion of unripened berries should be considered a medical emergency. Symptoms may be delayed for several hours.

Those berries in the OP look pretty unripe.

Medical attention now.
