What kind of monitor to get for 3d Animation

I have a 19" monitor but it hurts my eyes after a while. I would like to get a 19" monitor for <= $300 that is good on your eyes, and is good to do 3d animation/photoshop on. Any recommendations would be helpful.

What is your refresh rate set at?

It was like the cheapest 19" I could get when I buy it. It is at 1024 X 768. If I put it any higher it gets blurry. I have an geforce 2 gts, I am going to upgrade this at xmas but I want something clear for college this fall.
