i took a vietnamese-style martial art for about 3 years that combined chinese, japanese, and vietnamese techniques. it was essentially karate w/ more stress in kicking
now i take ryobu-kai japanese karate, offered @ school http://www.jkr.com
I just finished a semester of hapkido at my college. It's kinda cool, we learned a bunch of different ways to break someone's arm (they call them joint locks ) and some kicks. They call it a complete art, so I assume you learn punches and blocks and stuff eventually.
I have a first degree black belt in karate, but I haven't practiced for about 7 years. I was going to have my second degree major in weapons, but it was about an hour drive to the place with the right instructor.

I took hap-ki-do back in MD for a while. Wait till you get into weapon use... Soooooo much fun
:Q Tell me that you are serious!
Wushu is so cool! I saw a few videos of people doing it on the net and started researching it.
I heard it's not really a fighting martial art though, more of a exhibition martial art. Most of the people learn it just to compete with other's who study it.
