So, I'm at work last week, listening to my mp3's, and quietly minding my own business, doing my job. All of a sudden, this girl sees my mp3 player, a Creative Muvo TX-FM, which is smaller than a cigarette lighter, stops in her tracks and asks:

Blonde Bimbo: "OMG, what kind of ipod is that, it's SO tiny??"

Me: "It's not an IPOD"

BB: "Huh????? What do you mean?"

Me: "It's an mp3 player, not an ipod."

BB: "What do you mean?? Aren't they all ipods??"

Me: *rolls eyes, gives a big sigh, and turns up the music*

BB: Walks away embarassed.

I can't believe how brainwashed a lot of people are in believing all mp3 players are ipods. I actually was offended that she'd think I'd ever buy anything Apple related. 😉

LOL, same thing happen to me @ chior rehersal! I was in a church so i said, "no its a zen" and shes like ,"nice ipod" lol..
 
Are you in the southern USA? Just curious, because I've noticed that people in the south or from the south generally tend to do things like that. I mean they call all soda coke. You can get Dr. Pepper Coke, Mt. Dew Coke, Pepsi Coke, and Coke Coke. 😕

Also, they like to call portable CD players "head phones" and portable dvd players DVD TVs. This used to confuse the hell out of me at Kmart, since I'd get all these people from Burton (Buuuurrrtucky! Its a little piece of the south in Mid Michigan) asking for headphones, and then wondering where the portable cd players are... 😕

That kind of annoys me too. I always get asked if my Gmini 400 is an iPod. How dare they disrespect the Gmini by calling it an iPod!

People just equate portable music player with iPods when they don't know any better...

Besides, who cares? iPods have become synonymous with the class of products--like Pampers, Kleenex, and Frigidaire.
