Thanks a lot CD.. I guess a 3000 with it lousy 9 multi is out of the question then..need at least 3200... this board sure seems to perform well at an excellent price..

I also like how it's passive NBHS...

The HT bus isn't what's running at 280 MHz. That's at least 1000 MHz. What you're cranking up from its default 200 MHz there is the system's reference clock, from where HT and CPU are multiplied up. Please get your abbreviations right. Yes I'm talking to you "reviewers" out there.

Oh, and while we're at it: The memory isn't "running on a divider" like 1:1 or 5:6 or whatever from that reference clock either. RAM clock is divided down from CPU core clock - with a 2.6 GHz CPU and 200 MHz RAM the RAM is running on CPU/13. So before you write your next article, please research the technical background. Thankyouverymuch.

Peter, I think it's a lost battle

Zebo, glad I could help. The SL-K890Pro-939 is good for 280-285MHz I guess, that should be enough even for a 3000+ if you don't want to give it too much voltage.
About the NB heatsink, you'll read this in the ClubOC review:
"An active Northbridge proved to be un-necessary since during our tests, it barely emits any heat."
and also:
"Soltek managed to give us some paste on its northbridge, although we must note that the chipset doesn't emit a lot of heat even overclocked."

This board has certainly peaked my interest. For the price, I think it may be hard to beat. Gotta hold off, see what other boards will be priced like.
I see the Asus, MSI, and DFI are all around $200 Canadian, where the Gigabyte nf4x4, Chaintech and Soltek are $147. I would like to see where the Epox, Gigabyte nf4Ultra, Abit(not the Fatality one) will all be priced. The waiting game, love it?

So far I have a 3000+ running at 2.29ghz using 255fsb, 166 divider, 800ldt(4x), 1.45v. I have corsair value select with auto timings, and everything runs rock solid.

Am I missing an 'official SL-K890pro 939 thread' somewhere? Is it just too new a board that only a few people here have it?
