I want to install a home security system at my house.


This is a quote that ADT gave me,

Your Safewatch® Pro 3000 system includes: 1 Standard Touchpad, 2 door contacts, 1 Interior Motion Detector, 1 Interior Sounder, 1 Battery Back-up Power Supply, 1 Control Unit, and 1 "Protected by ADT" Yard Sign. Your system also comes with 24-hour monitoring, ADT's Theft Protection Guarantee, and a 6 Month Money Back Service Guarantee. There is a one time $25.00 Telephone Connection Fee.

Total is $370 with 26.99 monthly charge.

Do you know of anything cheaper and please post your monthly fee and installation fee.

Just go buy yourself a sign, or take one of the neighbors signs for ADT. That's all you need.

a 15yr old dilapidated Radio Shack Home Security sticker in the front window..and it hasn't worked since the day I attempted to install it. House has only been broken into once, and that was only the back porch

We've got an alarm, came with the house + a dog (medium GSD Mix.)

Might help you decide: Call your Home owners insurance carrier and find out how the rate goes down w/ alarm and if it goes up w/ dog.

Ours went down from the alarm.
