What kind of hair product should I use??

I use bedhead manipulator. Works well and it's sold at the hair salon in Wal-Mart. Not cheap compared to what's on regular Wal-Mart shelves, though. About $15

have you tried using less of whatever was making your hair stiff?

back when I had hair (used to have shoulder length blond hair before I shaved it off in 2003) I used panteen scrunching gel. used basically as little as I had to and it did the job.

Gel doesn't make your hair that shiny if you use it sparingly.

yeah, but my hair is so thick that it won't work if I use less
