I have an adopted Webber charcoal grill. Moved into an apartment over 2 years ago and the last people who moved out left theirs. Had to replace the upper rack ($11 from home depot) but other than that it is in awesome shape.

Depends on how much time you have. I always had gas, but I now have a cheap $30 charcoal jobbie from Wal Mart. It takes about 20 more minutes in prep time, but I like the results a lot. I slow cook everything I put on the grill. And uy a charcoal chimney if you get a charcoal grill, saves a lot of time and no need for lighter fluid.

If you're in a hurry most of the time, get gas.

depends on many things.

such as how much time you have to grill? how patient are you?

charcoal takes longer to get going. its (arguebly) also better flavor to the meat.

I prefer charcoal over gas. I do not mind the 20 (less if you use a chiminey) it takes them to get hot. I use the time to get the meat ready and drink a beer.

I have a Brinkman pit with attached firebox. Mesquite wood is the only "fuel" that will ever see the inside of my baby.
mmmm......BBQ. Doing some fajitas tonight, with a 12 pack of Corona.

charcoal grill is also less expensive than a propane grill isn't it? I think my wife was wanting a Weber Que, or Q, or whatever its called.

I use my $10 personal-size george foreman. Somehow it always manages to make my burgers taste like they are fresh off the mcdonalds grill.

You ought to be ashamed of yourselves. This is ATOT! Build your own. I have a grill built from an oil barrel with a cooking surface of 22" x 70" It has a foot rail and adjustable height.

Life's too short to drink bad beer.

I have an older Charbroil propane grill and I just bought a Weber charcoal grill.

If you are looking for a propane grill, Home Depot has a Vermont Castings grill for about $400 that was the highest rated medium sized grill by Consumer Reports.
