What kind of gas mileage would this motorcycle get?

I'm looking at picking up a 1982 XJ1100 Maxim (1100cc). It has 19,000 miles and I hope to pay around $800 for it. It's my first bike, so I know I should probably get something smaller, but I've been looking for quite a while and this is the first bike to fall in my price range in my area. One of the main reasons I'm looking to get a bike is for a cheap commute, so if this bike basically get's the same gas mileage as a small 4 cylinder car, it isn't worth it to me.

according to THIS, it is almost 600 lbs, and has a 5 gallon tank. Im willing to bet you;ll get in the 30mpg range...maybe higher

Let's see..............I've a Honda Nighthawk 750 and get in the mid-40's for gas milage without any trying ot conserve. A 250 can stretch a gallon upwards of 100 miles if you're extra special careful. That 1100 cc, maybe in the 30's....maybe get close to 40.
