I hate most fish... especially salmon. However, I do like mild white fish such as grouper. I'm trying to add more variety to my meals... what "grouper-like" fishes would you recommend and how should it be cooked and what kind of side would go with it?
Those are three whiter fish that are very "unfishy" in flavor. Mahi Mahi works best with sweeter sauces/marinades. Orange roughy works well with a jerk seasoning, and I like tilapia with a garlic or cajun seasoning. I do most of my fish on the grill wrapped in foil. Otherwise Mahi Mahi will bake well and the other two are thinner fish that work well char broiled.
No suggestions on side...just whatever sounds good at the time.
Try some thresher shark or sturgeon.
Sea bass is a very general term. There are oodles of different kinds of sea bass out there. Here in California, the local White Sea Bass is actually part of the croaker family. The black sea bass is not really a bass but a grouper.
