What kind of file ends in ".ptf"?

Someone just uploaded a file to my FTP server. The full name is "test1mb.ptf" The file was clean...I scan everything before clicking on it....but I couldn't open it with anything. WTH is it?

Prologue also uses a .ptf extension.

.ptf is a file extension for special case files and require decompiling components of the file prior to accessing it. It really stands for Pretty Tough File because the decomposition requirements

Thanks very much, especially for the links...the more info the better. I just checked the folders and 24 hours later, someone UL'd 100mb worth of PS2 games. Now, if I only had a PS2.

Oops. Guess I didn't look carefully enough. 3 folders with 332mb each. Only having a 15kbps upload sucks. Next week I get RR instead of DSL 45kbps sounds much better.
