Meet Harley, she's about 1 year old. I adopted her 4 months ago from the local shelter and she's definitely a lot lab, but a mix of at least one other breed, possibly more. She's full grown and only about 43 lbs but it's pure muscle - she's a jumper and can easily clear 4 feet. Her personality is very hyperactive.

The foster parents who surrendered her (not the original owners) claimed lab-shepherd, the shelter told me lab-border collie. Me and several friends/family see some pit bull in her, especially her face. She's pure gloss black, with a small white strip up her chest.

I love her crooked ears :)

LMAO. You mean you didn't know that shepherd, border collie, boxer, and about a dozen other common breeds are all synonyms for pit bull?

Shelters and people giving up their dogs rarely admit that they are pit bulls, even when it's blatantly obvious, as it is with your pit bull / black lab mix.

Yep, we got a dog from someone who claimed it was a pure Great Dane. Wife picked it up without my knowledge. As soon as I saw it I knew it had some Pit in it, along with Dane. So far, so good. He's a clumsy one year old, but obeys pretty well and is smarter than my pure bred Dane.

Doesn't matter to me, she's a great dog. As I said I definitely see it, as do several other people, but not enough to make me think she's a straight lab-pit mix.

most mutts are usually smarter than pure-breeds, but the OP's dog definitely has some pit in it.

I wasn't saying it should matter. I'm sure most pit mixes are perfectly good dogs.

I was just pointing out the frequency that pits are advertised as something else.

Of course it's possible that there are other breeds in your dog. But the first 3 pics you posted look very clearly like the classic head shape of a pit bull, with the coloring of a black lab, except for the trademark white chest spot of a pit. I don't see anything else, although I'm not an expert or anything.
