What kind of damage can be done to a truck that is covered in sand?

Would it cause the cab to cave in?

I imagine the weight would put some dents, but they'd probably pop back out afterwards. So long as the sand doesn't get under the hood or in the tailpipe, there shouldn't be a problem.

Doubt it. For example take an empty soda can and completely cover it with sand. Well cover it with lots and lots of sand. I'm sure when you dig it back out the can will have maintained its shape.
