Im probably going to be in it quite a few hours a day as school is starting soon. Not only am i going to be reading/studying at my desk, but i will also be working on my computer there as well.

Anyway, do you think i should get a task chair or a big leather chair? I need something condusive to learning yet comfortable....

just dont get the $20 AR officemax chair that's always on sale, or the "executive massage chair" from staples.

An untethered T41 doesn't need a desk chair. :)

BTW, was the T42 any kind of replacement option? Or any price protection on your purchase?

Get a nice big leather chair. That way you can take a nap without having to get up. :D

Besides, the task chairs get uncomfortable real quick.

I got a $40 AR big leather chair from OfficeMax and I love it. A friend of mine got the same one. Just make sure whatever you get tilts back quite a ways.

I loved every single Samsonite chair i've sat in. So comfy, supportive, and a mesh material!

Uhm, i have no idea. :)

All i knew was that i needed a laptop by this thursday and the T42 wouldnt have made it in time :D

IBM does have a 30-day return policy so i could always just swap it out for a t42, but for my purposes and time span, i dont totally see the need :D

Do NOT under any circumstance purchase a chair from Office Max/Staples type places. Trust me on this. Look for used Herman Miller or Steelcase chairs local to you. I prefer Herman Miller chairs. I recently bought a used Herman Miller Reaction chair for $250 and it is the most comfortable office chair I've ever sat in. Do yourself a favor and spend the money on a good chair. The cost may seems like a lot, but it's well worth it. Try here for used office furniture places, you can specify by state to find local retailers. Clicky

You want to dish out 50$ for a decent chair.

There are some really good reasons not to purchase the cheaper ones.

They are put together with nuts and bolts, the bolts are not counter sunk anywhere so little wiggling makes them come off the chair, hence your chair falling apart.

They make annnnoooying squeeking sounds.

Adjusting them is a lot harder and they probably only have arm/height adjustments

Look for a chair that allows you to adjust several things from ass size to perhaps the angle at which the chair sits.

it really depends on your budget. big leather type is the best.
whatever you decided to buy, try it out first...
