What kind of car (small, cheap, 70s-80s, rear-wheel) should I make my project car?

Why those years? I just sold a very good body and frame from a 53 Ford pickup to a guy for $300 which I had laying around . Ihave a 75 Jeep cj5 though but it's fully restored and I'm asking $4000K. too bad. Personally I think a classic like that would be better to make money from and they are classics. Imean 70s 80s? no good years for american iron IMO. Go look around you'd be surprised what you'll find in wreking yards and peoples homes.

That looks like a COPO.

"Central Office Purchase Order" (COPO) are usually engine upgrade to the 427 cu. in. special engine (425-450 bhp)
combination which essnetially meant you were ordering direct from the assembly line. And, I believe COPOs only came
with Camaro Z/28, RS, and SS. With no exterior improvement/modification, it is very difficult to distinguish the difference
between COPO and regular Camaros.

Those years cuz I'm gonna make a Frankenstein. Don't have the heart to do that to a classic.

Chevelle's...Malibus... etc, it wasn't just 427's.... Saw a special on them yesterday, it was very interesting.

It was the starting of sleeper cars, and stock power. No strips, no two tone paint jobs...
They weren't just specialty cars either... it wasn't just a "purchase order", essentially they were cars who were sent to Yenko the be modified... 425-450bhp. The factory COPO's did have the 427.

Camaros are just the most popular COPO cars, Don Yenko used COPOs to order Corvairs, Chevelles,Novas and Camaros.

I have wanted to do a turbo dodge minivan or a Chevy astro van v-8 conversion as a hack job. May be a little bigger than what you are lookin for.

You might consider an early 80's Celica or Supra.

Cheap, RWD, & the Supra/Celica shared the same platform... So you can buy a Celica for now & modify it with Supra parts later on.

The Celicas had a 2.4L 4 cyl with more HP/torque than modern day Civics... And they're RWD, so they would be a lot more fun to toss around than a Civic. Plus they're cheap, a guy at work is selling one for around $400.

I'm tempted, but the insurance would be double that for six months for me.
