thats a 20-pin USB 3 motherboard connector, used to supply signal to your front panel USB connectors :)

Thanks so if I connect this to my motherboard the front panel USB 3.0 will work ? The reason I am asking is because I did that and it is not working :(

I have a ASUS ROG Maximus IX Formula LGA1151 DDR4 DP HDMI M.2 Z270 ATX Motherboard.

Yes. That should make your front panel work. If it doesn't, then you either have a bad panel or a bad motherboard.:(

Might also be just a bad connection. The 19-pin connector can be finicky if it doesn't sit juuust right. Perhaps too long cables*, and/or poor cable quality. Try different combinations, and see if that helps.

*keep in mind the internal cable length counts too, and is subjected to an awful lot of EMI.

Edit; If you have a wireless card (or even a wireless mouse operating in the 2.4GHz band) somewhere in the vicinity that can quickly kill USB3 too...

I think putting a big old giant fat connector on a motherboard made today is very inefficient.

If you think plugging the front-panel USB3.0 connector on, is a pain, you should also try removing it... without maiming pins!

Horrible, horrible, physical interface.
