I realize the picture is horrible, but that was the best my camera phone could do for a night shot. This bug doesn't look like anything I've ever seen in michigan. It has these clusters of white spots and it was so cool looking it looked like someone painted the design onto its back. Anyone know what this is?

Thanks "The Boston Dangler"!!

having wings doesn't really rule out much in the insect world :p, though knowing the shape/position and general appearance of the wings when flying definitely helps

It was about an inch and a half long. Not sure if it had wings. I just got home and he was still hanging out so I got a picture with my real camera. Uploading now

Looks like he somehow lost an antennae in the past couple hours.

Much better pic. Are those wings? IF so, and they're soft, I'd go with a moth type.

I really couldn't tell if those are wings. I can actually see him much better in that photo than I could in person. Interesting about the antenna. The original photo was taken last night so it's been 24 hours. He's near some spider webs but not stuck (at least not today) so that may have been how he lost it. I didn't see any spiders around.
