 You missed the boat already...

I remember about a year ago there was an aircraftcarrier for sale on ebay.
That would have got you around the world in 6 months.

No it wouldn't.
It would stay docked. He probably can't even pay for it's fuel.

If he could afford the $124 Million for the boat, he surely could afford the fuel and crew.

I'm not sure a boat you plan on sailing around the world in is something you want to go cheap on.

Cigarette boat. Then you can zip around real fast. And bring a ski rope and skies/tubes since you might get bored part way.

How experienced are you at sailing?

You'd need something you can handle yourself. Boats up to 50' can be made to suit a crew of one. Costs big money though. You'd need a roller furling main and jib sails, you'd need to run all the lines aft to the cockpit so you could manage the sails yourself while you steer the boat. You'd also need a boat that is a good off shore cruising boat. None of those day sailers would do. Something with a heavy keel that will right itself if blown over. Also, something good and watertight and I mean everywhere, windows, hatches etc.

My Mom lives on a 43' Pan Oceanic and has sailed her boat to Brazil and up and down the east coast of the US from Florida to New York a couple times.

Hope you have money because it isn't cheap.

<--Used to crew on a 30' Pearson on Lake Ontario.

If you're such a tard as to not know what kind of boat could cope with said journey, then you obviously don't have the knowledge nor experience to sail such a craft around the world. Should you still be thinking about partaking in this perilous journey despite the vehement dismissal of your idea by the AT community, I strongly recommend saving yourself the time and money by simply drowning yourself in your bathtub at home, since it'll be the same result either way.

Ahoy, landlubber.

Edit: to further your initial comment, I would perhaps expand this statement to state that not only is your life stupid, but you indeed are also stupid.

Having said that, I might join your stupid club because of the DP below...

so basically you need about $250,000 to $500,000 in the bank and 4-5 years, 1-2 to learn what you are doing and 3-4 to sail around the world

something like that?

Good alternative since you don't know how to sail is to take an around the world cruise. It'll be lot cheaper and safer and comfortable.

Holland America has around the world cruise and it only cost around $25,000 for basic room. Pretty good deal if you ask me. It's on my do list before I die.
