what kind of art is old comic strips?

You know where you see a big picture of a comic in a museum and it has all the dots for the color etc. I am looking for some photos of this sort of stuff, or information about it. I am redesigning my website and I think it could be a cool theme.

Anyone have any information?

Like greyd said, it sounds like you're talking about a style most closely associated with Roy Lichtenstein, one of the major figures of the Pop Art movement.

Pointillism was the name for the late 19th century phenomenon of pictures made of dots, like a lot of Seurat's work. I'm not sure if the more modern 60's comics version are considered part of pointillism or just "pop art".
