I don't think you can bring anything in.... you are in jail....

a cousin of mine went in for 2 years (heh burned down my sisters house and stole $300).

he said he was allowed to bring in his bible and select personal belongins. such as pictures etc.

That was a state prison. County jails are completely different.

true. but i don't see it being much diffrent. i would think you could bring pictures, a bible etc.

Absolutely not. County jails have too high of a turn-over rate to bother with that. You can't even bring your own smokes. You can bring money and buy it from the canteen, but you're not bringing ANYTHING in. Ask Paris Hilton, she'll tell you.

Hope he gets what's coming to him.

Yeah, he's got 60 days in jail coming to him. Pay attention.
Wow. You certainly are a beacon of wit amongst the drab that is ATOT.

Is his license revoked?

I also thought the best punishment for DUIs was:
1st: License gone for a year.
2nd: License gone for the rest of your life.
3rd: Your life is gone.

You can't bring anything in. Anything you do bring will be held in a little box until you're released.

You're advocating execution for a third offense?

He needs an unspecified disease and a sympathetic county sheriff to change the sentence to house arrest...

The fact that you can buy cigarettes in jail/prison astounds me. Let the criminal fvcks go through withdrawls.

Most lockups and prisons are tobacco free nowadays... caffeine is the drug of legal choice...some people snort coffee...

My cousin got a couple DUIs recently and is turning himself in to be admitted into County today. Orange County, California Theo Lacy Facility if that makes any difference. He's a good kid who did a couple stupid things. Anyway, he's got to serve his time so he's sucking it up and going. Obviously he's pretty nervous and doesn't really know what to expect. Does anyone have any exprerience with this? As of right now he's taking the clothes on his back. I'll put a couple bucks into his spending account, but we're just not sure if he can bring some books, paper and pen, or anything. I told him to say that he's suicidal/depressed and maybe they'd let him out after three days.

If only he rolled his car while you were in it with him. With no one else on the road.

I don't think you understood the reference.

I did not. To me it just sounded like a loser giving another loser retarded advice. I didn't catch the reference at all.

He won't be allowed even the clothes on his back. They will take those away, put him in jail clothes...he MIGHT be able to keep his shoes. Also, send books/cashiers check (NOT MONEY)'/anything else through the mail. If its not allowed, it will simply be returned. I would call the jail and see how to transfer money into his account.

Yah, why should drunk drivers not be punished for putting many others at risk when they've already done it twice?

I have some suggestions...

1) A shiv made of plastic/composite, so it makes it past the metal detector!
2) Lots of cigarettes
3) Paris Hilton? Oh, right... she's already there :)
