im aware that sitting on a wallet can cause back issues (which is why i never sit on mine) however i HATE having things in my front pockets besides change, my cell phone and my car keys, it boggeles my mine that people actually carry a wallet in there

I use a silver one if it is a special occasion.

I felt the same way, but the Dopp is so small and thin that it's much less noticeable than a cell phone. The only problem is that I have so much money, it doesn't all fit in the wallet.

I carry it in my back pocket. I don't sit on it though.

Is that from Pulp Fiction? Musta been.

I like pretty good quality wallets, thin leather with enough compartments. I want it thin, but durable and funcitonal. None of that crappy plastic sleeve stuff that gets scratched up as hell over time. I hate that stuff. I've been using the same one around 15 years or so. Still in very good shape.

My chiropractor used to bitch at me all the time about the size of my wallet...

"Do you REALLY sit on that thing all day?"

(it went in my lunchbox so I didn't have to sit on it while I was working/driving)

Usually my wallet sits in the thigh pocket of my camos, don't sit on it unless I'm in _dress_ pants, and when I do that I sometimes remove the unnecessary cards. Even so, I don't let it get too thick.

I have an awesome velcro wallet.
Velcro rules, but in a wallet, I don't think so.

That's one reason I like my camos. I look like I just walked out of the jungle carrying an AK47, but I'm comfy. 😀

???

I can't imagine sitting on my wallet all day - that would be so uncomfortable.

This thread inspired me to empty the cards and receipts out of my wallet in order to trim it down (it was bugging me subliminally anyway). The oldest receipt was Oct 1st 2009. That's not the worst it's ever been, but currently it's not too bad since I no longer have to buy much stuff that merits keeping a receipt. I wondered if anyone can beat just over six months? If you think this should be a new thread then make yourselves heard.

In answer to the OP's question, I typically get bought a new wallet every 7-10 years which is how long they last, 100% leather folding wallet, nothing special but it works. I doubt you'll find a Marks and Spencers store in the US to buy one from though.

I have a Croft & Barrow black leather bi-fold with a picture pocket for my license. I think it's about 3 years old, but it's probably going to need replacing soon as one of the card pockets is ripping along the side.

I've never worn a wallet in my back pocket so I can only carry my wallet in my front pocket or else it feels like I'm missing something. Keys go at the bottom of my right pocket, wallet above that. Cell phone and anything else I have goes in my front left pocket.
