My goodness.... Ive been connected with Adelphia for almost a year now.. installation was 100$ and monthly charge of 49.95 which I thought was expensive to begin with for the crap service they provided . For example my max downstream was capped at 50KB/sec when they told me 1.5mbps. Numerous phone calls and tech visits to my house fixed that... its been chaotic... worst of all their upstreams capped at 15KB/sec 🙁

I got my bill yesterday and now they have decided to charge an additional 5 bux for their crap service~! I have no other alternative in my city ......... ughh... is this a reasonable price? 3-4mbps/128k for $54.95

 
i paid for my own modem, would have been $10 a month. install was $100. now i pay $29.99 a month for 1.5mb down/tested something like 128kps up or something like that. thru MediaCom. we have cable tv through them too so that lowers the price a bit.
 
AT&T Broadband (1.5mb down / 256k up) is $49.95 a month here in Atlanta. You can also lease a modem for $10 I believe.

I get 35KB up. 😀
 
$25 a month for 6 months because of promotion. Otherwise, I think it would be $45.

I forget what my up and download limtits are, but I pay $44.95 a month from Time Warner RoadRunner service which includes modem rental.
 
I live in NYC (financial district) and all the buildings here are pre-wired for high speed connections. I pay $40 per month for 11mbps/11mbps even though in reality i only usually get like 6mbps/6mbps. But i'm not complaining.😱
 
WideOpenWest (WOW) just announced Cable Modem service here (Western burbs of Chicago) for $29.00/month! Of course you have to get their CableTV service to get that price, otherwise it's $44.95.

Not sure on what kind of speeds one can expect.
 
i own my modem and a router that does dchp so i pay $39 a month.

When i got the service it was free hookup and 6months free. 🙂

considering when i had dialup i had a 2nd phone line ($50) and isp ($20) this is much cheaper and faster

oh i dont have the cap on the ATTBi modem service. i can download at great rates (225k/sec avarage) but really havent tried to send anything to anyone so dont know.

 
Nada. I bought it knowing I'd essentially have bought one in a year anyway with ATT broadband's $10/month "rental". Got a Motorola SB4100 for about $130 IIRC.

Free installation, free cable modem, free everything INCLUDING monthly fee for the Internet access thanks to my nice landlord who is footing the bill 😀
 
I dont pay a monthly fee for my cable modem.. I pay for the connection..

I pay $35.00 per month.. with free setup. Came with NIC, and the modem is free as long as I am with the ISP.

I get about 500k/sec for my max downloads.. they dont say a max speed..

And this afternoon I was uploading a 600meg file to a friend at a fairly constant 110k/sec

Seems like they recently increased our upload caps.
