I'm a student but I have a business (copy centers and stores) and I have 2 apartaments I get rents from.

No rent - I have my own place
30$ cell phone
15$ cable internet
20$ electricity
5$ water
150$ food (for two)
70$ gas
20$ insurance
0$ debts (I pay cash for my stuff)
500-1000$ (clothes, electronics, fun). Consider a typical evening out for two is about 30$ (including dinner, clubs, drinks). Monthly fee for fitness is 30$ (including sauna, solarium and massage). Going to a movie costs 3$.

Wow, that is fairly cheap, even cheaper than my Mexico lindo.

House: already paid 🙂
Cars (2): Paid cash when got them
phone: $70
food: $400
electricity/gas: $100
gasoline: $100
credit cards: zero balance
insurance: already paid
traveling: $100
clothes: $300
... I'll edit as i remember more 😉

No it's a 30-year but we borrowed $264k and put up $66k of our own. It's not even a huge house... Long Island prices are RIDICULOUS. I started a show-us-your-house-pics thread yesterday (mine wasn't in there) and some of those houses would be priced here at double what mine cost... easily. I hear San Diego is just as bad.

Woah... that's nuts! How big is the place? We're going to be getting a 136k new house (haven't started construction yet) w/ 1420 sq ft, 2 stories, 400 sq ft. garage, 1/4 acre lot, 3% down @ 6.25%, which is about $1025 a month after all taxes, insurance and fees.
