If they really wanted this case to be quiet, they should have included a TruPower PS.

They did include a TruePower PSU, and it's actually a special version of the TruePower with only one fan so it's even quieter than a regular TruePower PSU that has two fans.

Here's my original reply to Morphs' TruePower statement. Same answer still applies. It DOES come witha TuePower PSU.

I still want an SLK3700 with a window... wish I could just buy one with the riveted antec window (doesn't pop out like home-made).
How about Lanboy? It looks about same, and it's made of aluminum with a window.

I'm losing my patience on waiting for this case.
Time to look for an alternative.:disgust:

I'd hoped to put my 120 mm L1As to use in the new case... oh well, nothing's perfect.

You can use your 120mm L1As in the Sonata, it's made for 120mm fans.

Anyone know if you can buy a see through window side panel and put it on this antec sonata case? Are all the antec window sidepanels same size? so they are universal for any antec case?

There's no pre-modded window side panel for the Sonata *yet*. No other Antec side panel will fit the Sonata. Its' size is unique. The SX8xx and SX10x0 series will take the same size side panels, their demensions are identical.

Hey AT'ers, I just got an Antec Sonata case and got my guts in it. (and it even booted!!) So far I like it, it definitely is quiet, about as loud as only the HDD's in my old system. I have 1 pana L1A 120mm in the back, a pana L1A 92mm on the SLK-900, and a Vantec Iceberq on the northbridge. I little cramped on the inside, but I do have big hands/fingers, a couple sharp edges it felt like, but no cuts to show for them.

So far very pleased with it.

Rest of my system is:

Athlon XP 2100+ Tbred B
Asus A7N8X-DX
2x Crucial 265MB PC2700
Thermalright SLK-900 w/ Panaflo L1A 92mm
WD 100GB 8MB cache 7200RPM
ATi Radeon 8500 64MB
TDK VeloCD 48/16/48
Antec Sonata w/ Truepower 380 special and Panaflo L1A 120mm

I just picked one up at Best Buy. I love it! Combined with my slk 7 w/ ys tech variable fan it is near silent. My new 2400+ is running at 2250 mhz and a steady 44 C.

Anyone else have this problem with it? I couldn't install Windows XP on it as long as I had the 120mm case fan plugged in to the "fan only" thermal control plug. It would get to the point in the XP setup where it reboots for the first time, and is supposed to come back up in graphical mode, but it would just sit there on a blank background with a movable mouse cursor with aboslutly nothing else happening. I plugged the fan into a normal connector, and it loads like normal.

Every other OS seems to work fine without the fan in a normal connector. The whole thing is so wierd, the fan was the last thing I tried changing, just as a last ditch type of thing. Now it works, but it's louder than I'd like.

Also, I'd prefer if the power switch was on the outside of the front door, since then most of the time I could just leave the door shut. Kind of pointless having a door the way it is now.

No idea on the fan problem. But, as to the power button behind the door, you need a two year old to appreciate.😉

Ehh, I don't like it that much. Guess its because I'm a fan of the huge server cases 😉

I agree it is too small, but I still like it.

EDIT: Nevermind I was looking at the wrong case, this thing is ugly.

It's shiny, and light's up. I think it's pretty decent looking. Kind of classy but gratouitous.

Not sure how useful it is, since I can't run it with the fans slowed down 🙁

I don't like the Antec drilling on the side, the chrome rounded flip up door, the front fan would be obstructed, and mostly the front main drive bay door. I refuse to buy any case with any kind of door over the bays. Quite a few of these now.
I must say I saw this case at BB and the paint finish looks nice.

Why doesn't Antec offer any cases w/ a 400W PSU anymore, except the server cases? That would be what all the overclockers would buy, would they not?
