I like getting movies in the mail as a nice surprise, and Netflix may have saved my life, but I'm getting to the point where I've seen just about everything I want to on streaming.

They list new releases that I watched six months ago on their service, have far too much Bollywood/old-old/Korean/me-too/crap choices, and rarely list more than ten new titles a month I'm interested in. The science fiction selection is just terrible.

But, for the price, finding a great movie or doc that I wouldn't otherwise see, is great.

I have a subscription, but only use it about every other month. 90% of the movies on there suck. Quickly check the RottenTomatoes ratings for the movies - a few good movies, and the rest come in at 10%.

Yeah. Its not very good for movies. Its great for TV shows and documentaries though.

The movie selection sucks crap. It's basically for TV shows. After watching all those I canceled my netflix. I was hoping to be able to watch good movies regularly. I don't mind paying more if they had a good movie selection and new release schedules I could count on. All the ones that are on disc should be online too. I'd pay double or triple for even a quarter of those. But I guess that doesn't pay off for them some how? Some how they need to make that an option or part of the business model. Make it happen!

Yea which is why I always have trouble finding something to watch. I don't watch shows, only movies and movie selection because of the studios, is old or no name stuff. I still love Netflix but always have trouble finding something decent to watch.

I'll say, at least on my PS3, the Netflix app works a lot better than than the Amazon Prime app. And the navigation is slicker too. Push less buttons to get the same thing done.

People have been saying this for a long time, but the issue isn't Netflix's willingness to pay. It's the combination of a disconnect between Netflix's model (which lacks any concept of premium pricing packages that can be sliced up and shared with the content producers) and the fact that a lot of the biggest content producers just don't want to work with them. They're not willing to cede power to the upstart. They don't want to give up the old model where they got a fat chunk of money for each viewer. They aren't comfortable with way the medium works. They're moribund, and stuck in the past.

its a good deal

$8 or whatever it is a month and I can watch as much or as little as I want. House of Cards would be worth that per month. lil rudeguy watches it a lot more than I do.

I can't think of anything else in that price range that works as well as Netflix does.

I am sifting through the offer of the dutch netflix as i am typing this (well sort off in a multitasking way).

I find it saddening that they have stargate atlantis but not the stargate SG-1 series.
Bummer.

Still, they offer enough to be interesting. I am going to join as well.

I do find that DNS trick interesting to be able to watch other series from other regions as well.

Thank you. I will have a look. IMDB is my current primary source of movie information.

Yeah but that's not saying much for netflix! Look at how old most those movies are and mediocre a lot are. Shoot number 3 is "Fireplace For Your Home:" That many customers resorted to watching a fireplace for entertainment instead of other movies 😀
