Olympus E-330. First DSLR with liveview. Wasn't executed that well the first time around but it was an excellent technological advance that no other camera manufacturer has matched.

I'd give the best gadget of 2006 award to the Wii as well. It's nice to see someone do something creative with a game console, rather than just put out another system with xx% better graphics than the last model.

I'd nominate the Zune for the biggest disappointment of 2006, though. The hardware had potential, but the software and the DRM on it suck.

The Vaporware award of the year goes to the Optimus Keyboard for sure. That was supposed to come out in late 2006, but they still don't have a working prototype or even an estimated price tag for it yet.
