What is your favorite stereotypical response from folk who are losing a P&N debate.

My favorite sign of surrender arrives as an accusation that I am either smoking or taking something, or I have failed to take or have changed my meds.

And while I have heard this a thousand times and more, I am convinced the folk who say it fancy themselves as profoundly creative.

What are your favorite signs the opposition has been defeated?

When leftists pull a "but, but, but booosh!". That's when you know they are defeated.

The moment someone has to refer to the other person as a part of a political party is when I know they no longer have any thing more to contribute. Calling someone a "lefty" or a "righty" and deeming that as all of their argument just infers they no longer can back up what they believe in. Since they don't want to lose, they resort to name calling as if that answers everything for their argument. As if the other person's logic or points are rendered moot just because their views are the "opposite" of the person they are arguing with.

When it degenerates into worse name calling it's best to lock down the thread in my opinion.

Leftist is a world view/ideology and not a poltical party.

you lie!

with strawman coming in a tight second...

Hehe, you lie is a good one but strawman has a definition that should be able to be confirmed. That is to say, objective folk ought to be able to say is something IS or IS NOT a strawman, no? But it takes an asshole to call somebody a liar on the internet. They can lay out a case of hypocrisy, if there is one but the assertion doesn't cut it.

that's the problem with a lot of the arguments, tho... they use terms that are supposed to mean something improperly...

That is my favorite obviously, too. How do I know, well I use it myself. I use it because it makes me grin and despite it being cliche it never fails to please me or even get laughs out of me when others say it. There are more creative ways to use it, though than simply "you're off your meds again".

I find a freshness to the accusations, a purity of one's hatred that people normally mask a bit better.

When they resort to name calling and unrelenting streams of angry profanity...and, of course, when they feel compelled to start threads such as this.
