What is your favorite RTS game of all time ?

Sins of a Solar Empire was great, but Supreme Commander @ #1. The dual-monitors was great at the time.

First one I played, the original CC LOVED IT. Then red alert loved that one as well. Then almost flunked out of my first year in college because of SC1 :awe:

The worst was when even with max salvage corevettes there still were things you could not steal...🙁

That or your fleet was so big that it could not line the frigates up beyond the play area to hyperspace to the next level

You must be referring to the "Bridge of Sighs" level. Probably the best level in the game. You can take your time and spend MANY hours capturing huge numbers of frigates, destroyers and cruisers ... and then move on to kick a lot of Taiidani butt!

For me, I'd have to say Red Alert 2. Such an amazing game.

Hands down, RA2 and Yuri's Revenge are my favorite game of all time. Everything about it is too funny. And I finally figured out how to get internet play to work again, using Tunngle.

But in general C&C (as mentioned, pre-Generals) is an incredible series. I can't believe how they ruined it.

I also love W40K: DoW. DoW II was a huge let down following that. Rise of Nations and Company of Heroes, as mentioned, are also great.

My faves:

Age of Empires I & II
Rise of Nations
Total Annihilation
Starcraft I & II
Supreme Commander
Command & Conquer Red Alert 2 & Tiberian Sun (yes, I said it)
Dungeon Keeper I & II
Settlers I & II

probably anno 1404. I don't play many RTS, mostly because I suck at them, and I hate combat, so I like to play anno because I can play it at my own pace.

Company of Heroes. Love the squads, cover system, counter units, and blowing everything to bits, although I can understand why some people don't. First fell in love with it when I sent a bunch of riflemen at a tank only to find out that bullets don't do squat to armor 😀

I would like to give the 1st rank to Starcraft 1 (i so enjoy having to write Starcraft 1 and not just starcraft...). So many nights spent searching for zergs (big human lover 😛 )

Warhammer 40k, all expansions both I and II.

Also, Homeworld series. They really need to bring something like that back and make it easier for the modding community as well.

Dune 2 - Will always hold a special place in my heart. Introduced me to the genre.

Warcraft - Also a special title. First time I had the opportunity to play against other people in a RTS. A lot of good memories.

Starcraft - Probably spent more time with this game than any other. Responsible for me getting kicked out of business school.

Dawn of War - Awesome multiplayer. (especially with the community mods) and my absolute favorite setting.

Company of Heroes - My all time favorite campaign.

Starcraft 2 - Just the formula I enjoy the most. Very polished, and well balanced.

It's a split decision for me...

Dune 2
Warcraft 2
Total Annihilation

Honourable mention to Dark Reign & KKND along with Battlezone (1998) for trying something different.

C&C (the original) - I really liked the cheesy FMVs and it had a great soundtrack too.
Total Annihilation - I love to build the overpowered long range cannons and pound everything from the other side of the map.
