hmm ...

Man with no name
Indiana Jones
Evil Dead
Rambo (though part three wasn't nearly as good as the first two)
Terminator (Though I didn't care for pt 3)

BTW, Die Hard and Indiana Jones are soon to become more than trilogies... My hopes aren't too high though, Harrison Ford is in his sixties now, no? And Bruce Willis isn't far off either. Not that they shouldn't be acting, they're good at what they do - but as action heroes?

aaah dude I completely forgot about Die Hard! that has to be added to my list as well :)

Hard to pick just one, but I'd have to exclude Austin Powers, the Godfather, American Pie, and Termintator for having bad part 3's.

Star Wars 4-6, LotR, Die Hard, Indiana Jones, and Back to the Future are some good ones.

aaah dude ... i have to disagree with you on the austin powers. IMO, part 3 is the funniest, then comes part 2, then comes part 1. But then again, I didn't see these movies in order. I saw part 2 first, then part 1, then part 3. But still, part 3 gets me rolling more than any of the others heh.

but for the rest of the movies, I agree ... although, Terminator 3 was a lil better than I expected it to be (expect it to be horrible), and I really like how they ended it ... that judgement day was inevitable.

AP 3 had its moments for me, I know I said "bad" but didn't really mean it that way; the part where he's standing behind the peeing statue nearly killed me I was laughing so hard :D But it just didn't, as a whole, crack me up nearly as much as parts 1 & 2. Who could forget "WHO DOES NUMBER 2 WORK FOR???" and the tent scene in part 2?

Krzysztof Kieslowski's Three Colors (Blue, White, Red)

Star Wars (real versions -- Han Solo fired first!)
Evil Dead
Terminator
Indiana Jones trilogy
Lord of the Rings
Die Hard
Alien Quadrilogy (Resurrection was fun if you got into the dark Joss Wheedon humor)

Sadly, there were only 2 Heroic Trio movies.

In no order:

LOTR
Indiana Jones
Evil Dead

I only liked the first Terminator and Die Hard.
I've only seen two of the 3 colours trilogy, but I liked what I saw.
Hated the 3rd Godfather.

Godfather and Indy. I would normally say Star Wars but I hate Lucas too much.

While I love the LOTR movies

I like to point out, the LOTR is not a trilogy, it is a single literary work arbitrarily broken into three parts.
Thats not a trilogy.

That said,
Godfather - 3 wasn't good but 1 and 2 were really good
Star Wars
Indiana Jones.

Yeah, the first one was so promising.

Forgot a couple of cheesy but fun ones
Blade (if III is any good. II was stupid but still fun.)
Phantasm (Reggie Bannister, film's first ice cream vendor action hero)
