What is your favorite lyric from any song?

Mine is from Thunder Road by Bruce Springsteen.

"You can hide 'neath your covers and study your pain.
Make crosses from your lovers, throw roses in the rain."

I know the whole song by heart, but those lyrics really get me everytime. The visual imagery and desperation in that song is amazing!

More great lyrics:

And the Band Played Waltzing Matilda by Eric Bogle, one of the best anti-war songs ever:

"But the band plays "Waltzing Matilda,"
And the old men still answer the call,
But as year follows year, more old men disappear
Someday, no one will march there at all."

A Change is Gonna Come by Sam Cooke:

"It's been too hard living but I'm afraid to die
'cause I don't know what's up there beyond the sky,
It's been a long time coming, but I know
A change is gonna come, oh yes it will."

Stuck Inside of Mobile with the Memphis Blues Again by Bob Dylan:

"Oh, the ragman draws circles
Up and down the block.
I'd ask him what the matter was
But I know that he don't talk.
And the ladies treat me kindly
And furnish me with tape,
But deep inside my heart
I know I can't escape.
Oh, Mama, can this really be the end,
To be stuck inside of Mobile
With the Memphis blues again."

"You've been a fallen angel ripped out of the sky,
but as your wings grew strong enough,
you left me behind to die..."

Yes, I'm a depressing sunnuvabitch and PROUD OF IT. And kudos to anyone that can name that tune without using google.

Most creatures come in pairs. That's the way they mingle.
One kind only would be lonely. It takes two to tingle.

"The say that love is hell
but I've been laughing ever since I fell.
It's only gonna make you love me more."

-Ryan Adams "Gonna make you love me"

She lit a burner on the stove and offered me a pipe
"I thought you'd never say hello," she said
"You look like the silent type."
Then she opened up a book of poems
And handed it to me
Written by an Italian poet
From the thirteenth century.
And every one of them words rang true
And glowed like burnin' coal
Pourin' off of every page
Like it was written in my soul from me to you,
Tangled up in blue

~Dylan

"Sometimes when this place gets kind of empty,
Sound of their breath fades with the light.
I think about the loveless fascination,
Under the milky way tonight."
