Bah...I've never understood this. One night, just to disprove this, I drank beer, then wine, then did a shot, then wine, then more beer, then another shot, then some more wine, shot, beer...until it was all horribly mixed together...and I was fine the next day.

The saying just means that you want to drink the heavier stuff first, and then switch to the low alcohol beer.. not the other way around.. or you're more likely to end up bowing to the porcelain god.

I know what it is supposed to mean. My friends also told me, "don't mix grains and fruits (alcohol). Just to prove them wrong, I got tanked by mixing it all together, in many different orders...

I voted for Canadian Whiskey, but vodka is also good along with Rum. Oh, I forgot about tequila...
