Bah...I've never understood this. One night, just to disprove this, I drank beer, then wine, then did a shot, then wine, then more beer, then another shot, then some more wine, shot, beer...until it was all horribly mixed together...and I was fine the next day.

The saying just means that you want to drink the heavier stuff first, and then switch to the low alcohol beer.. not the other way around.. or you're more likely to end up bowing to the porcelain god.

I know what it is supposed to mean. My friends also told me, "don't mix grains and fruits (alcohol). Just to prove them wrong, I got tanked by mixing it all together, in many different orders...:D

Last time I had vodka...urgh, don't even want to think about it. the very smell makes me nauseated.... :(
probably just crappy vodka though :p

as someone said in another booze thread "my liver doesnt discriminate"

btw, canadian and irish (not sure on the irish?) whiskey is actually spelt 'whisky'.

I voted for Canadian Whiskey, but vodka is also good along with Rum. Oh, I forgot about tequila...:)
