I want one of the new 23" Apple Cinema HD Displays so bad I can't see straight, but I must restrain myself for a while...I hate tuition.

i like the 2001FP a lot also, but i like big lcd's, which is why i like the samsung more. too bad the samsung's only 25ms, but oh well, my current lcd is only 25 and i've gotten used to gaming on it and its a yr old, meaning that the samsung should be even better.

That Samsung is pricey though...dang.

Haven't seen the Dell, but I heard some issues with Dell's and certain Vid cards.

HP Monitor
Here is that HP Monitor I was talking about...pretty sweet looking.
and a "fall over and faint" price tag...yikes!

i have a samsung 172x. it's very nice. I wouldn't buy an HP LCD. I went to the store to look at them and they look worse than almost any other brand. You can easily find something better for the same price.

I guess I'm plenty happy with my Dell 1800fp. I haven't seen much better in person, but I know they exist. It sure is better than those crappy ones that some Gateways come with.

I love my Samsung 172T that I bought last year. It was around $560 on Newegg but thanks to CA tax it was around $620. Even with the tax it was still cheaper at Newegg than anywhere else.

I really can't say enough about this monitor.

if I am not mistaken it only has an analog input, does the dvi makes a big difference in the monitor's picture quality

Dell 2001FP - My company recently did an eval of many LCD monitors as a new corporate standard - more than two dozen were evaluated - Dell was the hands down winner. Others compared included Samsung, NEC, Sun, HP, IBM , Iyama, Eizo, Philips, Sony, Apple, etc.

Global delivery and support were a major issue - IQ, cost, reliability were other major factors.

17 to 21 inch models were looked at.
total contract of more than 100K units.

Ya, I was trying to be at least a little realistic. I would rather buy two 20" Cinema Displays and pocket the change. But the 30" displays are absolutely beautiful, I would take two if I had 6.5K to blow.
