It doesn't have to be the best, technically speaking. Instead, something that will cause you to put everything else on hold if it pops on the radio.

For me, I'd have to say Comfortably Numb. It's such an impressive solo to listen to.

A friend of mine is a big Queen fan and did this for me.

If you don't recognize it, you're not worthy. :p

yeah, Time is kickass as well

Link to time solo?

The ending solo to Joe Satriani's song ironically called TIME is absolutely Killer..

the entire Flying in a Blue Dream song by satch is good as well, as long as a plethora of Dream Theater solos....(end of "lie" is holy)

Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb. I love the guitar tone. I've tried to duplicate it and can't.
Lanny Cordola - Marriage of Figaro. Mozart meets modern electric guitar. Complete with a sitars and a banjo interlude. It makes my list if only for the amusement factor. :)
Zeppelin's - Whole Lotta Love. The solo is short but it has great tone.
Gary Hoey's cover of "Wipeout"

I guess no one heard of Eruption? That would be the BEST solo, but my favorite is probably at the end of Starship Trooper by Yes.
