YES. Dude when you can tell a story solely with your guitar, you know you are a god.

"Evil man make me kill you
Evil man make you kill me
Evil man make me kill you
Even though we're only families apart"

Everyone go and download this song/buy the album right now. I assure you won't be disappointed.

I think the best modern solo is probably in Know Your Enemy - Rage Against the Machine. Tom Morello is just f'in sick.

Prince - Let's go Crazy/ Purple Rain

Peter Frampton - Do you feel like we do?

Pink Floyd - Astronomy Domini

Guns N' Roses - Sweet Child o' Mine

Radiohead - The Bends

Duran Duran - Ordinary World

Any solo by Zakk Wylde or Dimebag Darrel....They both put me in awe.
One that stands out right now is the solo from Pantera's song Walk.

This one isnt my favorite really b/c mine have already been said, but another really really good one is the live concert of Dave Mathews in Central Park when Warren Haynes plays cortez the killer, its awesome.

Nirvana - Serve the Servants... the solo isn't super fast or anything like that, there's just something about it that makes it awesome.
