Need for Speed:porshe Unleashed. "cul8ter" on the servers. The servers aren't so hot but the game is. Lotsa of fun but you do have to know how to drive a car.

No I still think WW2 Online sucks. I played it a bunch when it came out and it sucked so then when they started charging I stopped and when they allowed you to come back and play for free again, I tried it again. Well it still sucked IMO (way too many tanks still, they didn't seem to limit them much, which should've been done from day one). Promptly uninstalled that and this time I won't be coming back to it.

Since no one responded to my other thread will someone tell me what exactly I need to buy to get started playing counterstrike and helf-life? I've heard many good things about it and I want to start playing it online. I went to walmart to pick it up but there are like 4 different versions of half-life? Also I heard you can download counterstrike for free? (legally) Is this true? Where can I do this?

Thanks for any help.

<< After a while, you'll run away from it and try to prevent yourself from ever returning. Trust me. >>

i've been playing for a year and a half, still playing it too....

<< When you play online, 9/10 people are just running around trying to rack up points. The other person might be trying to complete the given objetive, but is normally stopped by his/her incompetent teamates. >>

ever play in matches? the whole point of them is to complete objectives and use strategy, they're nothing like pubs. i actually like matches a lot, makes cs a totally different game.

There are 2 versions of CS. A retail version that you can buy in the stores and online upgrades for previous users. CS is free for download from their website as long as you own a HL cd. It is a MOD. Whichever option you find cheaper is the route to go. HL has been found as cheap as $10 on sale some places. HL usually comes in a orange box if it is still packaged that way. It might say "Game of the Year" on it as well. Also, CS "retail" has been found for $15 or so. Those are just personal observations. IMHO, buy the HL version as it includes the HL single-player game which is becoming a classic these days. You may have some updates for TFC to download to bring you up to speed. Their is an updated tool included with teh software that helps you with the multi-players updates. Then you would have to download the full version of CS from their website.

Good Luck!

What is Global operations?
Insert mouse and click < >

Where to get CS?
Sorgon2 was correct, but a note. If you buy the retail version there are (or were anyways) a few maps and sprites which were not included which you can d/l from the internet, just search for Counter Strike, or go to planethalflife.com and go from there

<< Once you try playing Counter-strike, you will get hooked, trust me :) >>

I doubt it. If I try playing any kind of game that uses the Half-life Engine I get really sick and nauseated after extended periods of fragging (like 30-40 mins of playing). After that experience I never played another game that uses the Half-Life engine again.
