I grew up on a little farm that grew a lot of watermelons. I love them, but I'm picky. The melons need to be from the central gulf coast.

Chinese apple. Havent seen or had one in many years.

Are those the big yellow ones? We used to wrap them in foam cushioning and export them. We called them Asian apples.

Asian...Chinese...it's all the same thing, isn't it?

HOLY CRAP mods...i'm kidding. 😀

1. strawberries - so darn tasty

2. mangos - awesome!

3. pineapple - the best are the Hawaiian ones you find still on the bush after picking. They are overipe and have turned into liquid sugar. You find them on the side of the road.

4. papayas - delicious, and great as a liquado. Toss fresh fruit, milk, powdered sugar and ice into a blender and whirl. Hmm! Good fruit!

5. grapefruit - the best ones I've had were bought in Oaxaca, Mexico. Huge yellow grapefruits, sweet and segmented, sold by the Indians in plastic bags, Hmm!

Pineapple. God I love fresh pineapple. I'd also like to destroy whoever was responsible for the idea of canning them.

Anyway, if you ever go to Oahu, drive down to one of Del Monte's pineapple fields and eat one off the plant. It's like a drug, you'll never taste a better pineapple than that.
