What is your favorite cheap booze?

Liquor snobs can check out of this thread right now. One man's bar tab is another man's mortgage payment, so with that in mind, what are some of your favorite cheap brands of booze?

In the past I was a light drinker, occasionally having a shot of Captain Morgan or Jose Cuervo. Now I delight in finding those off brands that are light on the pocket book while still being drinkable. Some of my favorites of late with prices I've been paying here in Idaho at the State run liquor stores:

Barbarossa Spiced Rum ($7/750ml, dirt cheap, not too bad, good bang for the buck)
Black Velvet 8 Year Reserve ($13/750ml, reasonably priced decent Canadian whiskey)
Blue Ice Potato Vodka ($29/1750ml, My wife loves this stuff and it keeps going on sale)
Burnett's Vodka ($16/1750ml, great mixer vodka at a cheap price)
Elijah Craig Bourbon ($17/750ml, one of my favorite budget sippers)
Lunazul Tequila Reposado ($18/750ml, cheap and 100% agave, occasionally goes on sale)
Montego Bay Rum ($7/750ml, dirt cheap, not too bad, good bang for the buck)
Seagrams's Smooth Brazilian Rum ($10/750ml, I love this stuff in diet coke)
Sweet Carolina Sweet Tea Vodka ($12/750ml, one of my favorites with lemonade)

Not sure what the prices are, and I'm not a big fan of cheap spirits, but here's a few bang/buck choices I like...

Old Forrester
Famous Grouse
Tullamore Dew
Carolan's Irish Cream

American...

I think this stuff is a Dollar a keg..

FYI, I usually value flavor over smoothness. That said...

Old Forester ($16) is really good bftb. I'd drink it straight if it's not cold. Jeremiah Weed ($14) is about in the same category. I don't know of anything better for less than twice the price.

Old Crow ($8) and Ten High ($7) are really good mixers and super cheap. About on the level of Jim Beam IMO ($16).

For cheap rum, I'd go for Admiral Nelson ($8.50). If you must step up, sign up with the Captain ($11) or Sailor Jerry ($14). Next step is Myers' ($19).

Vodka- I don't have a lot of XP with vodka, but try Sobieski ($11). It's WAY better than the bargain basement garbage. Some vodka snobs have actually rated it very highly. I won't drink low end vodka at all anymore.

Canadian Whisky- Black Velvet Special Whatever ($13) is a good call. If you want cheaper, Rich & Rare ($7) is tolerable mixed. Makes me think of a really cheap Crown.

In Tennessee Whisky, it's a matter of opinion, but I find George Dickel ($19) to be smoother and more flavorful than JD ($22). Of note- Heaven Hill bourbon ($7) is also charcoal filtered and can give you some of that flavor when you're feeling too close to Andrew Jackson to let him go.

In Scotch, I almost always choose Grant's ($11). Again, twice as much to get anything better. Good straight if warm, or mixed with milk, ginger ale, or a splash of water.

Beer is too varied to even get into, but I find Hamm's to be the best bargain brand, if you can get it. Last time I bought it, it was about $12 for a 30...everything else near that price is garbage.

I came in this thread to suggest Burnettes. Smirnoff used to be $10 a fifth here and it was awesome and my go to drink, now its $14 so I just buy burnetts.

Whiskey, Evan Williams. Looks like Jack Daniels bottle and tastes about as good but I don't know about whiskey. It's like $11 a fifth.

I can buy two bottles of Jameson for $16 a piece and get an $8 rebate back. That's cheap, smooth sipping whiskey for $12 a bottle.

I'm also fan of a $12 bottle of vodka call "Spudka". It's a potato vodka that I can find regularly at my local liquor store.

2 buck chuck!!!

Charles Shaw for the uninitiated.

Protip- Buy a bottle of charles shaw at your local trader joes, let it breath for one full hour, drop 3-5 very small rocks of kosher salt into a full glass. Enjoy within a half hour. The salt absorbs the acidity and produces a short lived quality glass of wine.

When I was like 18 and having friends buy for me and my friends, we didn't give a crap. Of course, everyone knows of liters and half-gallons of 5 o'clock, but it turned out that the Michigan Liquor Commission had a website listing all the prices (fixed statewide).

So we'd find shit like half gallons of Mohawk Vodka (LOL) that were even cheaper than 5 o'clock but no more nasty!

These days, no thanks. For cheapest beer, Miller Highlife is good. Svedka is a pretty reasonable vodka.

beer – PBR, Straub (local brew, found it on sale for $10/case once)

liquor – Sailor Jerry (rum), Admiral Nelson (rum), Sauza (tequila)

Maclays. Works out to ~$1.20 a bottle, which is dirt cheap by Canadian standards. It's not half-bad either.
