87 in a 65, which equated to a $265 fine, but the kicker was that we had just topped out a brand new mercury mountaineer, and pinned the speedometer, probably somewhere in the 125+ range since the speedometer ended at 110 or 115, this was at liek 3am on I-90 driving across NY state too, damn troopers out late

never been caught speeding before although i had a close encounter today, but i guess if going 55 in a 3 lane road with no cars around really counts as "speeding" then... yeah

however I did lose 230$ in ping pong/craps a couple days ago... i was up 230$ and lost all of it =/

Never been pulled over. I had a close encounter on the I-5 south though. Some prick in his damn ford focus thought it'd be fun to not let me pass him. He'd go about 80 in the left lane and when I'd change to the right lane to overtake, he's speed up sometimes to 100 with me to keep me from merging in front of him. Stupid prick. This continued for about 2 miles or so. So, I waited for my chanced and floored it to 115 past him in the left lane as he tried to keep up. Then, right when I passed him I swerved in front of him and pushed my breaks slightly with my left foot so my brake lights came on. I had the satisfaction of hearing his brakes come on hard as I take off. Then, 5 seconds later I saw a patrol car parked in the dust off the left lane about 300 yards ahead of me. If he was looking, it would have been an easy tickets. Guess I got lucky or something. I was back at 85 when I passed him.

Yes, I know that was stupid but when you've been on the road for 5 hours and you encounter a prick, it makes for some road rage.

107MPH in a 65MPH zone. $450 fine and a 20 day suspension. It was kinda funny actually. The State Cop that pulled me over was in a unmarked Chevy Lumina as part of a special "Aggressive Driving Unit" and he gave me a ticket for 107 because that was as fast as his car would go before the engine would cut out, and in his words, "My engine kept cutting out and I wasn't gaining on you."

I really really had to resist the urge to say, "Well you know officer, you probably should get a faster car for these situations." ;) Of course, I didn't say that as it probably would have just made things worse. He was actually very cool with me since the traffic was almost non-existent and it was a three lane highway. He could have arrested me right there, but he just gave me a ticket with a court date. Ahhh, the good old days...

:)

Oh, and for all you guys that are going to say how I could have killed someone and whatever, it was 5:30am on a Sunday morning and I live in semi rural New Hampshire. The only car on the road that morning beside me was the cop...just my luck. :(

No speeding tickets, but one VERY close call:

95 in a 15 (school zone)

On Grand Island (Niagra Falls, NY) there is this dead-end road, with no houses & is perfectly straight for 1 mile. However at the end of this road there is a school. It was 3-4am & I decided to do a top speed test (125 in the car I had @ the time - 1987 Pontiac Lemans Areocoupe). Right at the end I was still going 95-90ish as I drove past the school (& the cop). He never pulled me over. Me & my friend figure it must've been one of the "dummy cars" (cop car w/o a cop), but we were going too fast to see.

16 months ? rats. here in CA they let you take traffic school once every 18 months, i just past the 13 month mark. took traffic school and my record's clean, 92 in a 70 zone, i think it was roughly $100 after traffic school (i took traffic school online, it was way cheaper). hoping i can excercise enough self-restraint for the next 5 months so i'll regain my "buffer" zone. most of my speeding is the 4 hr drive through barren nothingness that is I-5 to the bay area when there's no other traffic (and there never is any).

Wow, sounds like I got off easy. I was driving on I-5 headed north through Coalinga...Harris Ranch. So of course I speed up to get through the ka-jillion cows and their hills of poop right? I guess a cop waits around there for people just like me. I was going 100 in a 70 zone, but the cop was nice and only wrote me up for 95. Suprisingly cheap...with traffic school fee $159.

By the way, if anyone lives in California or certain parts of Nevada, I recommend online traffic school, I was done in 30 minutes! Cost me additional 20 bucks. Link

44 in a 25 zone, but the area where I sped had a median, no posted limit, and the streets parallel to it were all 45, so it was only $60...

80 in a 65 and I got slapped with a $78 ticket. It's a damn speed trap on the 60 Fwy to 605 Fwy interchange. Damn cop stopped the slowest guy (me) coming out of the interchange.. two cars in front of me were doing at least 90.

Three of my tickets are for 90+

The latest/worst one I have is 110. Speed limiter was holding me back. Two motorcycle CHP were chasing me for a couple minutes before they caught up. They only caught up when I got tired of going so fast. The cop later started chewing me out, "I was going 115 and I still couldn't catch up to you!" I was like, oh really? :D

He only wrote me up for 90 though because he never actually paced me at 110, by the time he caught up, I had already slowed down. I was kind of surprised they didn't just run me down, bikes are fast. Or I guess cops on bikes don't like to drive that fast.

um, that's all I can think of right now.
:Q You got cited for doing 70 in a 65 zone? That's not even 10% over the limit.
By the way, I've never gotten a speeding ticket before and I'm not planning to get one.

You obviously don't know how cops treat Mustang drivers. It's par for the course in my area at least. I got pulled over once doing 29MPH in a 30MPH zone, a total of seven cop cars showed up, I spoke to three or four different officer's for a total of almost 45 minutes. After all that, I was given a warning because my tach supposedly blocked my view...

:disgust:

Apparently, it was "too fast for the conditions". Because it was cloudy.

It was 11:00 PM. Who gives a crap if its cloudy, it's dark out anyway.
