Ok, this is what I am getting currently.

Single RAID0 Volume using same LD for source and target:

Specifics:

Mainboard is SuperMicro X5DAE
HBA is Intel SRCU42X which is identical to LSi Logic MegaRAID 320-2X. Controller has 128MB PC2100 ECC Cache and 600MHz Intel Xscale processor.
Four disks were used, Fujitsu MAS3367 15K U320 running RAID0 with 64KB stripes. HBA specific settings: ARI/WB/CIO.

I will break this array down into a pair of LD's across the two channels. This will provide two discrete sources and targets with a pair of disks running RAID0 with 64KB stripes. Then I will run the tests again to compare.

Cheers!

*sigh*
I wish I had his toys. 🙂 I believe that 64-bit PCI slot equipped mobo actually has an 8x AGP slot! Oh...it also needs dual-Xeons and ECC memory...and costs more than my gaming rig. :Q

2x36GB Raptor drives. Checked out your rigs.

I posted my 36GB Raptor score and my 80GB WDSE. Also score for raptor to SE and SE to raptor

I have to test again and add the transfer part also.

It's a storage benchmark so your controller has a *huge* impact on scores!

Cheers!

For my main computer, on its 200GB 8MB buffer Maxtor drive:
File creation score, 1070
File copy score, 2795
COSBI score, 1932

Secondary PC, two 80GB 2MB buffer WD drives in RAID 0:
File creation score, 1484
File copy score, 2177
COSBI score, 1831

Interesting..I guess the 8MB buffer helped a lot. Some day maybe I'll get 8MB buffer drivse for the RAID array, maybe. But it'd have to be cheap - it all works fine for now, and between my two desktops, I've got 640GB of storage space.
Oh, all drives tested are 7200rpm PATA.
