1986 951: Not. For. Sale. There wouldn't be any point. If I sold it, I'd just take the money and immediately buy another 1986 951.

1976 914: I'd be open to offers here in the $20,000 range. Basically, it's a project car that I'm waiting to restore mechanically (cosmetically it's in fantastic shape but mechanically it's just a runner). Long-term intent is to get a Raby 2270 into the car and then just enjoy it but someone would have to give me good motivation to part with it.

1998 S70 T5: Probably $8,000 to $9,000 to replace it with an equivalently fun "practical" car. I've decided to buy my DDs in the $8,000 to $15,000 price range and then drive them until the wheels fall off. Seems to work well for me.

^ Do you have any picts on the forum Zenmer of your 951? I WUB THOSE CARS!!!!!!!!!!

91 300zx Wont ever sell. Probably have 6k in it now. Had a kid offer me 8k for it and I briefly considered it because I was looking at an M5

08 G35X. Blue book is probably 18k. Would take 16k for it probably. I drive my other cars more than it as of late. May sell soon.

91 LS400 Lexus. 4500 probably.

85 325e Not worth much

96 Talon TSI. Would take 2k for it since its basically a roller till im done with the engine.

98 528i for sale for 4500.

08 Sienna LE 14k

It would take a dumb amount of cash to make me part with my MS3, I've got it just how I like it. Spent a lot of time finding it too.

I could let go of my Miata for $5k, maybe a little more. But that car has a lot of time into it... I would not look forward to starting all over again.

Some of both Porsches are here: http://picvolt.net/main.php/v/ZV/porsches/

The body on the 951 is a bit rough, the paint is starting to fade and the postman backed into the passenger door recently. Plus I need to re-carpet the interior and get new leather on the seats. Mechanically she's very solid though. I'm just waiting on the cosmetic stuff until I'm done with Law School.

1998 Acura 3.5RL - Worth about 2600 dollars to me.
on the other hand...
1972 Jaguar XJ6 4.2litre - Convince me to sell it.

i generally don't have much sentimental value for things. i mean i am not senile my memories are in my head not in objects.

that said i tend to buy cars in the mid 30s to 40s range. so i could buy a used car but would greatly prefer a new one. so my car i bought new, if it got stolen or something and somehow i had no insurance, i'd replace it with another car like it new.

so in a way my car is worth 35-45000 dollars... even though it probably only blue books for 24000 now.

I thought you were crazy on the price until I saw the picture. Amazing shape.

Ehh my forester is reliable, gives me acceptable fuel economy, has no problems when we get a blizzard, and can carry a decent amount of crap when I go to Menards. It's only rated to tow 2500ish pounds, but, that's usually enough for me. It is kinda wimpy with power (only around 170HP for 3000 pounds), but it handles tight enough and is entertaining enough to drive. I've only got about 80K miles on it, and I don't think I'd part with it for under 15K even though I'm sure the KBB is less given it's mileage. Also, it's the 2008 model, I very much like it vs the newwer body styles, they seem to be a bit less utilitarian these days...

Get an XT. That'll solve your power issue. 😉

a) car's are the worst investments and usually lose value more than just about anything (almost)

One exception being Facebook stock owners? 🙂

b) I keep my cars forever, so selling it is never an option
c) all of my cars have been serving me for MANY years and have a GREAT sentimental value that are directly related to my memories (family/kids etc)

So yeah.....they are priceless to ME.

I feel the same way. Amongst all my cars, the only one that I consider to be irreplaceable is my 17 year old Maxima. It was the first car I bought, so it holds a great deal of sentimental value to me. My parents hate it enough to offer me five times the trade-in value for it if I gave the car away. I told them that I'd never do it (though if they hit 50 times the trade in value, I realistically would 😀 ).

KBB on my 2004 Grand Prix GTP Comp G is $10,300 private party, $8300 trade-in. LOL no way.
Garaged, 50k miles, stainless exhaust, chrome 17's, HUD, a trunk that will fit my three 12's with room left over for groceries and an electrical system that can handle 1100W...
It was never my dream car, but where am I going to get a comparably nice, 158MPH car for $10k?

Paid $19,300 for it in 2004. It's worth around $17k to me now. Because I'd want around $1k for the hassle of having to find a replacement and around a $2k margin to cover the chance of buying someone else's problem. That puts me at $14k for the replacement. I think I could find something nice for $14k.

My 2003 Bandit 1200S was $7k new.
It's worth around $9k to me now. Stock.
Don't care that I could get another '03 for $4k. I want mine. Mine mine mine.
Not even entirely sure I'd let it go for $9k. $11k would be a pretty quick, "Yes," but $10k? Not so much.
God I love my bike.

I don't put a value on my car. It's a 06 model purchased in 05. Never had an issue with it. Just recently changed all 4 tires and it's good as new. I'm gonna drive this car to the ground. I'll eventually get a new car, but I'm probably gonna keep this car as a daily driver.

I have no dollar amount on my Camaro because I'm not parting with it. The fact that I have every intention of sinking 2x as much money into the car in upgrades as I purchased it for should say enough 😛

No sense in even bothering with the Trailblazer. It's value to me as a dependable vehicle that I have no payments on is more than the market value. It is here to stay until something catastrophic happens to it, at which point it would be replaced with another one.

About what I paid for it (~24k). I own a 2012 Mustang V6, but I hope to get a red 1967 Mustang Fastback after it's paid off.

I want to learn more about cars in the meantime, my knowledge is woefully lacking.

My '01 civic is probably worth maybe $2,000 but for me there's no reason to sell it. I can't find a suitable replacement for that kind of cash, nor would it be as reliable. This car has been owned by my family since it rolled off the lot. It's got 165k miles with absolutely no large issues. Paint is peeling off and the headliner is going, but it always starts, still gets 33-34mpg and holds most of what I need. If I was going to sell it, I'd pick up a compact truck or a Forester XT or old Impreza WRX wagon.
